A Commitment Ceremony
provides an opportunity for couples that are unable for legal or personal
reasons, to formally marry. The purpose of the ceremony is to make a public
declaration of life-long commitment, love and dedication to each other. It is a
wonderful opportunity to celebrate a meaningful Rite of Passage in the presence
of love and support from their family, friends and wider community.
What does the Ceremony Involve?
Although, a Commitment
Ceremony is not a legally binding ceremony, this does not in any way take the
pure intention and validity out of this beautiful spiritual union of two souls.
Every
Ceremony is uniquely tailored to suit the individual needs and wishes of the
couple. Working within the ceremony guidelines, couples can create their own
unique celebration, by selecting words, symbolic content, poems and readings
that hold a special meaning for them.
Each ceremony is designed
specifically for the couple and will contain options of their choosing including
an introduction and welcome, readings, promises and commitments to each other,
spiritual symbolism, signing of a certificate, exchange of rings or presents.
